Privacy Policy

Kahjok Kimchi House (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates a marketing-only website. This notice explains what limited information we handle through the website, email contact, and in-person sales. It is written to be clear and minimal.

Scope

This policy covers:

  • Visits to our website.
  • Optional website analytics, if you choose to allow them.
  • Contacting us.
  • In-person purchases where you choose to receive a digital receipt.

We do not run online sales on our website, do not have user accounts or a contact form, and do not use advertising trackers or personalized advertising.

Information we handle

1) Website hosting

Our website is hosted with Firebase Hosting, a Google service. Like other web-hosting services, Firebase processes technical request information needed to deliver and protect the site. Google states that Firebase Hosting processes incoming request IP addresses for abuse detection and usage analysis and retains that IP data for a limited period.

2) Optional analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 only if you choose “Allow analytics” in our privacy choices. Until you allow analytics, the Google Analytics tag does not load and no Analytics data is sent by our site.

If you allow analytics, Google Analytics may collect information such as page views, session and usage statistics, approximate location, browser and device information, scrolling, outbound-link clicks, and file-download events. Google Analytics uses first-party identifiers such as the _ga cookie to distinguish visitors and sessions when analytics storage is allowed.

Our Analytics setup is intentionally limited: Google Signals is off, user-provided data collection is off, advertising storage and advertising personalization are denied, and we do not use Analytics for targeted advertising. Detailed event and user data retention in our GA4 property is set to 14 months.

You can change your analytics choice at any time using the “Privacy choices” control in the website footer. If you withdraw analytics consent, our site tells Google Analytics to stop analytics storage and removes accessible first-party Google Analytics cookies from our domain.

3) Contacting us

If you contact us by email (for example via a “mailto:” link), we will receive your email address and any information you include. We use this only to respond and handle your request.

4) In-person purchases

At checkout, you may choose to enter your phone number or email to receive a digital receipt. That contact information is stored in our Square account. We use it only for transaction-related purposes (for example, sending your receipt or resolving an order issue). We do not sell this information. Square processes this information as our service provider under its own privacy notices.

How we use information

  • To deliver, operate, and secure the website.
  • To understand website use if you choose to allow analytics.
  • To respond when you contact us.
  • To send requested receipts and address transaction issues.
  • To comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

How we share information

We use service providers that help us operate the website and business:

  • Google/Firebase for website hosting.
  • Google Analytics for optional website analytics only after you allow analytics.
  • Square for point-of-sale, digital receipts, and payment processing.

We do not sell personal information and do not share it for targeted advertising.

Cookies and browser storage

The static website does not require an account or shopping-cart cookie. We store your analytics preference in your browser so we can remember whether you allowed or declined optional analytics.

If you allow analytics, Google Analytics may set first-party analytics cookies such as _ga. If you decline analytics, the Google Analytics tag remains blocked and those Analytics cookies are not set by our replacement website.

You can change your choice at any time through “Privacy choices” in the footer, and you can also control or delete cookies and site storage through your browser settings.

Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above and to meet legal and tax recordkeeping requirements. Detailed Google Analytics event and user data is configured for 14-month retention. Firebase Hosting and Square maintain data according to their applicable service terms and retention practices.

Children’s privacy

Our site and services are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Texas note

We are a small business based in Texas. We do not sell personal data, sell sensitive personal data, or use website data for targeted advertising.

Your choices & contact

You may allow or decline optional analytics, and you may change that choice later through the “Privacy choices” control in the footer.
